The Netherlands could be without its biggest star for Saturday's matchup against Italy at the Women's World Cup as Lieke Martens missed training Friday with a toe injury.

A decision over Martens' availability will be made ahead of the quarterfinal encounter, head coach Sarina Wiegman said at a press conference Friday, according to FOX Soccer commentator Derek Rae.

Martens apparently suffered the injury against Japan in the round of 16 on Tuesday. After scoring the winning goal, the winger emerged from celebrations with a visible limp.

She was absent from training on Thursday and Friday.

Following a slow start to the tournament, Martens finally made her presence known with a pair of crucial goals to help the Netherlands eliminate Japan.
