What you need to know

Vonn makes PyeongChang 2018 debut

The wait is over. Six-time World Champion Lindsey Vonn will make her long-awaited debut in the Women's super-G final. Vonn, who captured gold in Vancouver 2010 in the downhill event, will compete against 45 skiers; a group that will feature three Canadians (Valerie Grenier, Candace Crawford, and Ronni Remme) and Swiss skiers Lara Gut, Corinne Suter, Jasmine Fleury, and Michelle Gisin.

Update: Vonn fails to medal in super-G after 8-year Olympic absence

Howell out to defend gold in women's slopestyle final

Three Canadians enter the women's slopestyle final as medal favorites. Ontario native and 23-year-old Dara Howell will look to recapture gold after a terrific showing in Sochi while bronze medalist Kim Lamarre hopes to remain on the podium in back-to-back Winter Olympics. Yuki Tsubota - who finished fourth and just shy of a Canadian medal sweep - is in the mix, as well.

Update: Howell, Lamarre both fail to make final after falls in qualification

Canada seeks 2nd straight win in men's hockey

Canada didn't look out of place in the opener and will look to build off an impressive 5-1 win against Switzerland - this time, against a tougher draw in the Czech Republic. Wojtek Wolski made a statement in his Olympic debut with two goals, while veteran Derek Roy added three helpers. For their part, the Czechs squeaked by South Korea with a 2-1 win thanks to two points from Michal Repik.

Update: Canada suffers shootout loss to Czech Republic in 1st defeat since 2010

Chan out for redemption in final Olympic appearance

Patrick Chan heads into the men's free skate final in sixth place after an unspectacular showing on Thursday in which he failed to land a triple axel. In what is expected to be his final Olympic skate, the 27-year-old will need to be at his best against Japan's Yuzuru Hanyu, who posted a remarkable score of 111.68 in the short program.

Update: Chan finishes 9th as Hanyu takes home second-straight gold

Koe aims to keep Canada undefeated vs. Sweden

In a battle of the unbeaten, Canada's curling team, led by Kevin Koe, will be in tough against Sweden's equally competent group, complemented by skip Niklas Edin. The Swedes have dominated their opponents early on with quality showings, particularly against South Korea (7-2) and the United States (10-4).
