HOFer Lisa Leslie 'seriously considering' WNBA presidency role

With two league titles, three MVP awards, and eight All-Star selections to her credit, there's little more Hall of Famer Lisa Leslie could do to add to her legendary place in WNBA history.

But how about the title of WNBA President? The position is still open after Lisa Borders' surprising resignation last month. The 46-year-old Leslie, who has spent much of the past nine years since retiring from playing as an analyst and occasional actor, says the WNBA's top job is definitely on her radar.

"It's something that I am seriously considering to throw my name in for as well," Leslie said on a conference call, according to ESPN W's Katie Barnes.

NBA deputy commissioner Mark Tatum has held down WNBA duties in an interim capacity since Borders' departure, but with the league's current collective bargaining agreement set to expire at the conclusion of the 2019 season, a long-term solution is needed to help bridge the divide between owners and players.

"I feel like I could continue to help guide us in the right direction," Leslie added. "I want for the league to be successful and have the best president possible, someone who wants to stay and help it to grow."
