The 2023 World Junior Championship will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Moncton, New Brunswick, Hockey Canada announced Thursday.
Russian cities Novosibirsk and Omsk were originally going to host the tournament, but the IIHF revoked the country's hosting rights in February due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.
The tournament is scheduled to take place from Dec. 26 to Jan. 5. Halifax last hosted the world juniors in 2003.
The 2022 world juniors were canceled just four days into the tournament due to COVID-19 outbreaks in teams. It'll start from scratch in Edmonton this August.
