The enshrinement ceremony for the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame's 2020 class will take place next year, chairman Jerry Colangelo told ESPN's Jackie MacMullan.
"We're definitely canceling," Colangelo said. "It's going to have to be the first quarter of next year. We'll meet in a couple of weeks and look at the options of how and when and where."
The Hall announced last week that ceremonies for the classes of 2020 and 2021 will not be merged. The induction ceremony traditionally occurs in August or September. This year's event was originally scheduled for Aug. 29.
The 2020 class features legends including Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, and Rudy Tomjanovich.
