The Dominican Republic beat Israel 10-0 on Tuesday in Miami via seventh-inning mercy. The decisive runs were scored on Jean Segura's two-run ground-rule double.

The result guarantees Venezuela's advancement out of Pool D and sets up a must-win contest between the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. ET. The winner of that game will finish as Pool D's runner-up.

Venezuela, which faces Israel on Wednesday, has clinched the top spot in the pool and will face the Pool C runner-up in the quarterfinals.

Pool C has yet to be decided, with Team USA and Canada both at 2-1 and Mexico at 1-1. Mexico and Canada face off Wednesday, while the United States' final appointment will be against 1-2 Colombia.

Roansy Contreras earned the win for the Dominicans, allowing one hit over 2 2/3 innings while striking out four. Manny Machado hit a towering solo homer in the third inning that gave his team a 2-0 lead.
