Inter Milan turned down Chelsea's offer of €100 million plus wing-back Marcos Alonso for Romelu Lukaku on Monday, Sky Sport Italia's Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

Inter reportedly have no intention of selling Lukaku, and the 28-year-old is apparently content to stay at the club.

Chelsea remain determined to re-sign the Belgian striker and could test Inter with a stronger offer, according to Di Marzio.

Lukaku scored 24 goals as Inter won the Scudetto for the first time in 11 years. But his future became uncertain when manager and mentor Antonio Conte decided to leave at the end of the season. Conte terminated his contract amid reports that Inter would sell a number of players due to financial constraints.

Lukaku confirmed in June that he'd stay put, telling reporters he had already held a "positive" conversation with Conte's successor, Simone Inzaghi.

Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a striker, and Lukaku's a familiar target. The Blues signed him in 2011 from Anderlecht, but after a pair of loan spells at West Bromwich Albion and Everton, the club allowed him to leave on a permanent basis. Chelsea came close to re-signing Lukaku in 2017 when Conte was manager of the west London side.

Lukaku eventually joined Inter from Manchester United in 2018 for a reported €80 million, and he's gone on to form a prolific partnership with Argentinian international Lautaro Martinez.

Lukaku returned to Inter's preseason training retreat last week and featured in last Wednesday's 6-0 friendly win over Crotone.
