Tiger Woods withdrew from the 2023 U.S. Open, the USGA announced Monday.

Woods - a three-time champion of the event - underwent ankle surgery in April following the Masters. There is no timeline for his return.

The 47-year-old made the cut at the Masters for a record-tying 23rd straight time last month but withdrew from the event prior to the completion of Round 3 due to plantar fasciitis.

Woods last competed at the U.S. Open in 2020 when he missed the cut. He skipped the U.S. Open last year despite entering the other three majors, citing a need for rest.
