A number of top players couldn't overcome a tough challenge at Oak Hill this week, as several notable names missed the cut at the season's second major.

Last week's winner, Jason Day, fired rounds of 76 and 72 to head home early after playing zero practice rounds at the course. He's joined by last year's U.S. Open champion, Matthew Fitzpatrick, who saw his made-cut streak at the majors come to an end at nine.

Sam Burns' quest for his first major championship will also have to wait, as the World No. 14 crashed out with rounds of 74 and 80. The same fate befell Cameron Young, as the young American standout made 11 bogeys or worse over 36 holes.

It was also a tough showing for the man leading LIV Golf's individual standings this year, as Talor Gooch finished at 10-over for the event.

Only nine players are under par after 36 holes at Oak Hill.
