Hoge leads Sanderson Farms with Round 1 postponed due to weather
Tom Hoge fired an 8-under 64 in Round 1 of the Sanderson Farms Championship to hold a one-shot lead as inclement weather postponed play on Thursday.
Hoge got off to a hot start with three straight birdies at the Country Club of Jackson. He carried his runner-up form from last week's Military Tribute at the Greenbrier to turn in a bogey-free round in pursuit of his first career PGA Tour title.
Here's how the top of the leaderboard stands midway through the first round:
Place | Player | To Par | R1 Score |
---|---|---|---|
1 | Tom Hoge | -8 | 64 |
T2 | Robert Streb | -7 | 65 |
T2 | Cameron Percy | -7 | 65 |
T2 | Seamus Power | -7 | 65 |
T5 | Zac Blair | -5 | 67 |
T5 | Emiliano Grillo | -5 | 67 |
T5 | Zach Johnson | -5 | 67 |
T5 | Mark Anderson | -5 | 67 |
Byeong Hun An and J.T. Poston are halfway through their opening rounds and sit at 5-under par.
Last week's winner, Joaquin Niemann, didn't skip a beat. He fired 68 and is in a tie for 11th.
Sungjae Im, 2018-19 Rookie of the Year, is 4-under through nine holes.
Round 1 will resume Friday at 8:00 a.m. ET.
