Niemann breaks through with historic 6-shot victory at Greenbrier
Joaquin Niemann clinched his first PGA Tour title Sunday with a dominant six-shot victory at A Military Tribute at the Greenbrier.
The 20-year-old Chilean fired a six-under 64 in Round 4 to become the youngest non-American winner on the PGA Tour since 1923. He also joins the elite company of Seve Ballesteros and Rory McIlroy as the only players born outside the United States to win before age 21 since World War II, according to the 15th Club's Justin Ray.
Niemann is Chile's first PGA Tour winner and the first player under 21 to win by five or more strokes since 1932, according to Ray.
Though he won by a substantial margin, it wasn't easy for Niemann. He entered the day with a two-shot lead but saw it quickly disappear before rebounding with six back-nine birdies - including three straight to cap his round - to finish at 21-under and run away with the tournament.
Here's the top of the finalized leaderboard:

With the first tournament of the 2019-20 season in the books, the PGA Tour now heads to Jackson, Miss., for next week's Sanderson Farms Championship.
