DJ grabs 54-hole lead at RBC Heritage after 3-under 68
World No. 1 Dustin Johnson holds a one-stroke lead at Harbour Town in Hilton Head, S.C., after carding a third-round 68 on Saturday at the RBC Heritage.
Johnson, a South Carolina native, seemed to get a hometown roll on an impressive 47-footer, which marked his second of third straight birdies on the back nine.
Johnson began the round two shots behind leader Shane Lowry, who carded an even-par 71 on Saturday. Lowry, Rory Sabbatini, and Ian Poulter all trail DJ by a stoke at 9-under. A fleet of golfers, headlined by Patrick Cantlay (-8) and Matt Kuchar (-7), remain in the mix.
Notables Jordan Spieth (74), Xander Schauffele (72), and Marc Leishman (77) all fell out of contention with disappointing third-round scores.
Johnson is seeking his third win of the year and the 21st victory of his career.
