After waiting nearly 24 hours to get his first round of the Genesis Open underway, Tiger Woods carded a 1-under 70 that consisted of five birdies on Friday.

He stumbled out of the gates at Riviera Country Club, bogeying two of his first seven holes before turning things around with four straight red numbers.

Woods suffered four three-putts in Round 1, tying his PGA Tour career high for most in a round, according to Golf Channel's Justin Ray. He also hit 17 greens in regulation, his most on Tour since 2012.

He sits six back of clubhouse leader Jordan Spieth and is outside the top 50.

Tiger will have a quick turnaround before his second round begins at 5:02 p.m. ET.
