Leishman completes wire-to-wire victory at BMW Championship
Marc Leishman grabbed the top spot on the leaderboard Thursday and never relinquished it at the BMW Championship.
Leishman capped off a brilliant performance Sunday at Conway Farms Golf Club, posting a final-round 68 to finish 23-under par for the tournament and beat Rickie Fowler and Justin Rose by five strokes. The 33-year-old set the 72-hole tournament scoring record with 261, surpassing both Tiger Woods and Jason Day by one.
The win by the Aussie moved him to No. 4 in the playoff standings, giving Leishman a chance to win the FedEx Cup title and the $10-million payout with a victory at East Lake.
Jason Day posted 16-under par for the week to claim fourth place, while Matt Kuchar and Jon Rahm tied for fifth at 15-under.
Jordan Spieth closed with a final-round 65 to secure the top seed heading to next week's Tour Championship.
