Bettor misses out on $2.5M parlay after picking 3 of 4 major winners

Rob Schumacher-USA TODAY Sports

One bettor was left kicking himself after Justin Thomas took home the 2017 PGA Championship on Sunday.

Jordan Baker wagered £2 on a four-event parlay, picking Sergio Garcia to win the Masters, Brooks Koepka to emerge victorious at the U.S. Open, Rickie Fowler to claim the Open Championship, and Justin Thomas to win the PGA Championship for a payout of roughly $2.5 million. Although, as Alex Myers of Golf Digest notes, Bet365's website says it has a maximum payout of £500,000 for golf bets.

Baker's hopes were dashed when Fowler finished tied for 22nd at the Open Championship, but even though the bet had already been lost, it didn't make Thomas' victory Sunday any easier to accept.
