Montreal Canadiens defenseman Joel Edmundson received a five-minute major and a game misconduct for cross-checking Edmonton Oilers forward Zach Hyman in the head Saturday night.

Hyman was bloodied and shaken up on the play, but he was able to stay in the game.

Edmundson has never been suspended in his eight-year career, although he was fined for tripping back in 2021.
