Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee will be sidelined for three-to-four months following successful disc replacement surgery, the team announced Friday.

Farabee suited up in 63 games for the Flyers this season, posting 17 goals and 17 assists while averaging over 17 minutes per contest.

The injury timeline could potentially lead to Farabee missing games early next season. The 2022-23 campaign is the first of the former first-round pick's six-year, $30-million extension inked last September.

Farabee is the third NHL player to have a disc replacement procedure, joining Jack Eichel and Tyler Johnson.
