Connor McDavid didn't just outduel Nathan MacKinnon on Thursday night.

The Edmonton Oilers superstar had a night he'll never forget, pouring in a career-high six points in a 6-2 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

McDavid buried his third power-play marker of the game to secure a hat trick and his fifth point midway through the second period.

Then, toward the end of the second frame, he established a career-high with his sixth point of the contest, earning a primary assist on Ryan Nugent-Hopkins' second goal of the night.

McDavid became the first Oilers player to record six points in a game since Sam Gagner collected four goals and four assists on Feb. 2, 2012.

The Edmonton captain boosted his 2019-20 point total to 37. His linemate, Leon Draisaitl, piled up five assists of his own to grow his league-leading point total to 41.
