The Kansas City Chiefs and quarterback Patrick Mahomes have agreed on a restructured deal that will guarantee him $210.6 million between 2023 and 2026, his agency told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

It's the most money in NFL history guaranteed over a four-year span. The two sides will revisit the deal after the 2026 season, Schefter adds.

Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Justin Herbert, and Joe Burrow all signed lucrative deals this offseason, which eclipsed the guaranteed money Mahomes signed in 2020. Mahomes' original contract only fully guaranteed him $141.4 million, according to Spotrac. However, the pact contained triggers that guaranteed additional money as the contract progressed.

He was the eighth highest-paid quarterback in the NFL before reworking his deal.

The 28-year-old has become the face of the league since the Chiefs traded up to select him with the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Mahomes exploded onto the scene when he took over the starting job in 2018, throwing for over 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns.

Mahomes has won two MVP and Super Bowl trophies in seven seasons. The Chiefs have reached five straight conference championships, with a regular-season record of 64-18 during that span.

The two-time first-team All-Pro has 24,772 passing yards and 196 touchdowns with a 65-17 record in 82 career games.
