Report: Bears signing T.J. Edwards to 3-year, $19.5M deal
The Chicago Bears are signing free-agent linebacker T.J. Edwards, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Chicago agreed to a three-year, $19.5-million contract with $12 million fully guaranteed, per Rapoport.
Edwards, 26, spent the past four seasons as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Wisconsin product racked up 159 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, and two sacks on a talented Eagles defense in 2022.
Edwards signed a one-year extension as a restricted free agent before last season.
The addition of Edwards provides the Bears with a possible replacement for Roquan Smith, who was traded last season to the Baltimore Ravens.
Edwards is one of many key contributors from the Eagles' 2022 roster that are currently on the market, including Chauncey Gardner-Johnson and Miles Sanders.
