Dalvin Cook questionable vs. Seahawks due to ankle injury
Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is questionable to play Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks due to an ankle injury, the team announced Friday.
Cook, who hasn't practiced this week, suffered the injury during Minnesota's Week 2 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He was forced to leave the field multiple times because of the issue, but Cook still produced a strong performance while rushing for 131 yards on 22 carries and playing 77% of his team's offensive snaps.
The two-time Pro Bowler has battled multiple injuries since entering the NFL as a second-round pick in 2017. The Florida State product has missed 22 regular-season games over his first four years, including four since 2019.
He enjoyed a career year with 1,918 scrimmage yards and 17 touchdowns over 14 games in 2020.
If Cook doesn't play versus the Seahawks, the 0-2 Vikings will likely rely on Alexander Mattison as their main rushing weapon. The third-year runner has racked up only four carries for 13 yards in 2021.
On Friday, Minnesota also ruled out linebacker Anthony Barr and rookie offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw for Week 3 due to knee and groin injuries, respectively.
Defensive end Everson Griffen, who didn't play last week, has cleared the concussion protocol and is expected to be available against Seattle, according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin.
