Shane Steichen has agreed to terms with the Philadelphia Eagles to become the team's next offensive coordinator, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Steichen had been with the Los Angeles Chargers since 2014, working his way up from quality control coach to quarterbacks coach before taking over the offensive coordinator duties this past season.

He also holds ties with new Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, as the two spent time together with the Chargers.

Steichen worked closely with Justin Herbert during the passer's historic rookie season. Herbert set the rookie record for passing yards and touchdowns in 2020. Steichen heads to a Philadelphia team that features Carson Wentz and Jalen Hurts in its quarterback's room.

The Eagles have revamped their coaching staff heading into the offseason. Sirianni is taking over for Doug Pederson, while Indianapolis Colts defensive backs coach Jonathan Gannon will reportedly serve as the club's defensive coordinator. Duce Staley, who was the assistant head coach and running backs coach, is reportedly joining the Detroit Lions' staff.

The Eagles are looking to bounce back after finishing 4-11-1 this season. The offense averaged just 20.9 points per game, ranking 26th in the NFL.
