Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is questionable to play Sunday against the New York Jets, head coach Brian Flores announced Friday, according to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.

Tagovailoa suffered a left thumb injury Wednesday as a result of hitting it against a helmet during practice.

Flores said he wants to watch practice film before making a decision on Tagovailoa and running back Myles Gaskin, who hasn't played since Week 8 due to a knee injury.

Tagovailoa was removed from this past Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos in the fourth quarter due to performance reasons. Flores later said the first-round rookie will remain the Dolphins' starter over veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick.

The 22-year-old has posted a 3-1 record as a starter while completing 61% of his pass attempts for 593 yards and six touchdowns.

Flores also ruled out running back Salvon Ahmed and guard Solomon Kindley due to a shoulder and foot injury, respectively.
