Texans give O'Brien GM title, promote Easterby to executive VP
The Houston Texans have given head coach Bill O'Brien the title of general manager after operating without a front-office leader for the 2019 season, owner Cal McNair announced Tuesday.
In addition, Houston promoted executive vice president of team development Jack Easterby to executive vice president of football operations.

The Texans fired former general manager Brian Gaine in June and struck out in their attempt to lure New England Patriots executive Nick Caserio.
Houston proceeded with a committee approach, with O'Brien acting as the deciding voice.
Despite the lack of front-office structure, the Texans were aggressive this season. The biggest moves were sending pass-rusher Jadeveon Clowney to the Seattle Seahawks and trading multiple first-round picks to the Miami Dolphins for left tackle Laremy Tunsil and receiver Kenny Stills.
The AFC South winners were eliminated in the divisional round by the Kansas City Chiefs after winning the second playoff game of O'Brien's six-year tenure in the wild-card round.
