Watching Lamar Jackson's MVP-caliber season has former NFL and CFL quarterback Doug Flutie wishing he could play again.
"I just wish I could play in the NFL today with these spread offenses, quarterback runs, and all that," the former Heisman Trophy winner said. "It'd be a blast. It'd be a little more suited to me, put it that way.
"Lamar Jackson is unbelievable. I was a running quarterback. He's an elite tailback if he wants to. He's amazing. His shiftiness, his pure speed, and then he has the ability to really throw the football too."
In his 12-year NFL career, Flutie threw for 14,715 yards and 86 touchdowns while rushing for 1,634 yards and 10 scores for the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and San Diego Chargers. He'll be returning to Buffalo on Sunday to celebrate the 20th-anniversary return of his Flutie Flakes cereal.
