New York Jets linebacker C.J. Mosley said Thursday he'll return for Monday night's game against the New England Patriots barring a setback, according to NFL Network's Kimberly Jones.

Mosley has missed the Jets' last four games after suffering a groin injury in the season opener.

New York's defense has held up without Mosley, ranking 19th in yards allowed per game. However, the prized offseason free-agent acquisition is still an important piece to the team's success.

"As impactful as getting a starting quarterback back," head coach Adam Gase said on Wednesday of Mosley's return, according to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano. "It's that impactful."

The Jets have relied on Neville Hewitt, Albert McClellan, and rookie Blake Cashman in Mosley's absence.

New York made Mosely, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Baltimore Ravens, the NFL's highest-paid inside linebacker at $18 million per season in March. Bobby Wagner's extension in July exceeded his deal.
