Dolphins' Norton cited as at fault for car crash that led to arm amputation

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton was cited as at fault for the car accident last week that led to the amputation of his left arm, Florida Highway Patrol's crash report determined, according to ESPN's Cameron Wolfe.

Norton made slight contact with another vehicle due to an improper lane change, causing him to crash into a concrete barrier. Neither alcohol nor drugs were considered factors for either driver in the accident, according to the report.

The NFL announced all of Norton's medical expenses will be covered by the league and his team's insurance.

Norton remains hospitalized, but the 22-year-old's medical status is stable and his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Dolphins claimed Norton off the Carolina Panthers' practice squad in 2018. He had yet to play a snap in the NFL.
