The Oakland Raiders have agreed in principle to trade guard Kelechi Osemele to the New York Jets, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Along with Osemele, the Raiders will send a sixth-round pick in the 2019 draft to the Jets and receive a fifth-round selection in return, according to Jerry McDonald of Bay Area News.

The 29-year-old Osemele spent the last three seasons as Oakland's starting left guard.

He has two years remaining on his contract, so the move will save the Raiders $10.2 million in 2019 and $11.7 million in 2020 against the cap, according to ESPN's Dan Graziano. Additionally, Graziano reported that no dead cap money will remain with the Raiders once the deal goes through.

The deal can't be made official until Wednesday, the first day of the new league year.

Meanwhile, the Jets' starting left guard during the 2018 season, James Carpenter, is slated to hit free agency.
