Report: Falcons activate Deion Jones from IR, not a lock to play vs. Cowboys
The Atlanta Falcons activated linebacker Deion Jones off injured reserve Monday, according to Jason Butt of The Athletic.
Head coach Dan Quinn said that Jones isn't a lock to play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
"We’ll have the same format that we had last week," Quinn said Monday, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "We’ll take it step by step and see where he’s at. It’s too early to make a prediction of where he could be. He’s eligible to be back this week, but that doesn’t mean he’s ready.
"We will put him out there when he’s 100 percent."
Jones was sent to IR after breaking his foot in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The No. 52 pick of the 2016 NFL Draft was named to the Pro Bowl in 2017. He has seven career interceptions - including one against the Eagles this season - to go along with 23 passes defended, one sack, one forced fumble, and two touchdowns over 32 games.
Guard Rees Odhiambo was waived to make room on the 53-man roster.
