The New York Jets are unlikely to fire head coach Todd Bowles before the end of the season, a source told ESPN's Rich Cimini.

Bowles' job security has been a source of speculation for several weeks. The Jets' embarrassing home loss to the lowly Buffalo Bills in Week 10 on Sunday did him no favors in that regard.

Among the reported reasons that New York is reluctant to pull the plug on Bowles during the season is the absence of a logical interim replacement.

Bowles is in his fourth year as head coach of the Jets. The team has dropped four straight contests heading into its bye in Week 11 and owns a 3-7 record for the season.
