Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson reported to training camp Monday despite previously skipping mandatory minicamp due to his contract status.

Johnson, who also sat out organized team activities prior to minicamp, is entering the final year of his rookie deal and is presumably looking to become one of the highest-paid running backs in the league.

A wrist injury limited the 26-year-old to one appearance in 2017. Two seasons ago, the Northern Iowa product racked up 1,239 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground, along with 80 catches for 879 yards and four scores through the air.

There's no word on whether Johnson and the Cardinals have made significant progress in extension talks.
