Two of the most important figures in the history of the New Orleans Saints - quarterback Drew Brees and head coach Sean Payton - will follow Tom Benson's casket as honorary pallbearers at the deceased owner's private funeral on Friday.

Benson owned the Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans before his death last week at age 90. Public visitation for Benson occurred Wednesday and Thursday as several former players, coaches, owners, and personnel from around the league came to pay their respects.

Saints general manager Mickey Loomis, team president Dennis Lauscha, and vice president of communications Greg Bensel will also serve as pallbearers, carrying Benson's casket.

Pelicans head coach Alvin Gentry, forward Anthony Davis, and general manager Dell Demps will be honorary pallbearers with Brees and Payton, as well.
