Report: Dolphins sign Gore to 1-year deal

Steve Mitchell / USA TODAY Sports

Frank Gore is heading home.

The Miami native has signed a one-year deal with the Dolphins, Pro Football Talk reports, citing a source.

Gore spent his collegiate career at the University of Miami before he was selected in the third round of the 2005 draft by the San Francisco 49ers.

Gore spent 10 years in San Fran before signing with the Indianapolis Colts for the past three seasons.

Approaching age 35, Gore currently sits fifth all time in career rushing yards, just 75 yards behind Curtis Martin for fourth place. He hasn't missed a game since the 2010 season.

Gore figures to slot in behind Kenyan Drake on the Dolphins' depth chart. Drake finished the 2017 season as the lead back in the Miami's final six games and impressed by carrying the ball for nearly 5 yards per carry in that time.
