The Kansas City Chiefs have already begun shedding some of their veteran talent in order to improve their cap situation, but Justin Houston apparently isn't one of the older players in danger.

The pass-rusher won't follow Darrelle Revis, Derrick Johnson, and reportedly Alex Smith out the door in Kansas City, a source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Houston has missed 17 games over the past three seasons, but has still racked up 21 sacks over that time.

The 29-year-old carries a $20.6-million cap hit and the Chiefs would incur $12.7 million in dead money if they release Houston, according to Spotrac.
