O.J. Simpson's parole hearing certainly got off to a bizarre start Thursday, with his football career being invoked without prompt.

It's certainly an odd choice, considering Simpson first came to fame as a member of the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers.
If granted parole, Simpson will be released from jail Oct. 1.
