Bo Jackson says he's had hiccups for nearly 1 year
Former MLB and NFL All-Star Bo Jackson has been dealing with a strange medical condition since last summer.
Appearing on "McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning" show Wednesday, Jackson revealed he has a chronic case of hiccups for which doctors have yet to find a cure.
"I've had the hiccups since last July, and I'm getting a medical procedure done the end of this week, I think, to try to remedy it," he said. "But I'm busy at the hospital, sitting up with doctors poking me and shining lights down my throat and probing me every way they can to find out why I've got these hiccups."
Jackson said he's tried several remedies to get rid of the hiccups, none of which have been successful.
"I have done everything - scare me, drink water upside down, smell the ass of a porcupine - it doesn't work," the 60-year-old said.
Though Jackson's condition is unusual, it's far from the longest recorded case of the hiccups: The record for longest hiccup attack is 68 years, according to Guinness World Records.
Jackson, the 1985 Heisman Trophy winner, played eight MLB seasons and four NFL campaigns before retiring from professional sports in 1995.
