Oscars planning tribute for Kobe

Kobe Bryant will be recognized during the 92nd Academy Awards ceremony next month.
The Academy announced in a statement Bryant "will be acknowledged in the telecast," according to Patrick Hipes of Deadline. It's unclear if Bryant's tribute will be a part of the Oscars' annual "In Memoriam" segment, which honors those who have died in the past year, or something else.
Bryant won an Oscar for his animated short film "Dear Basketball" in 2018.
The Academy Awards will air Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
