Best player prop bets for Titans-Jaguars

Ah, yes, Titans-Jaguars on a Thursday night. How dare we football fans and bettors actually get an entertaining prime-time game.

So far there's been little scoreboard activity in prime-time spots this season. Six of the seven games have gone under the total while all seven first halves have hit. The initial lean would be for unders all around, including in the player prop market, but there's only one under in particular that we like for Thursday.

Here are the best player prop bets to consider for Thursday's matchup.

Marcus Mariota under 197.5 passing yards

Mariota's never been a great passer in the NFL; he's yet to throw for 3,500 yards in a season. Even with Arthur Smith's promotion to offensive coordinator this year, the Titans' mantra of running the football hasn't changed.

Considering the spot for Thursday, with Tennessee favored on the road, it's probably another good time to fade the Titans' quarterback. Here's how he's performed in his last five games as a road favorite:

Opponent Completions/Attempts Yards
Giants 12/20 88
Bills 12/26 129
Dolphins 9/16 103
Cardinals 16/31 159
Colts 17/25 184

The morale on Jacksonville's defense in the midst of the Jalen Ramsey saga is worrisome. But the Jaguars are four days removed from holding Deshaun Watson to 159 yards on 16 completions, so they should have little trouble limiting Mariota through the air.

Dede Westbrook over 3.5 receptions

This is a good time to buy low on Westbrook after he finished with one catch for a measly three yards against Houston. When Gardner Minshew came on in relief of Nick Foles in Jacksonville's opener, he targeted Westbrook on roughly 25% percent of his throws. And although the wide receiver didn't put up much of anything against the Texans, he still received five targets from Minshew.

Derrick Henry over 75.5 rushing yards

The Jaguars' defense has yet to play a true ground-and-pound offense yet. However, Jacksonville still allowed 80 yards on 10 carries to the Chiefs' LeSean McCoy and another 90 yards to Houston's Carlos Hyde last weekend. Given Mariota's struggles in the passing game, expect Henry to get enough of a workload to put this one over the rushing total.
