Simon Pagenaud took the checkered flag at Sunday's Indianapolis 500, outlasting a final-lap flurry by Alexander Rossi and Takuma Sato to win the title for Team Penske.

Pagenaud defeated Rossi by two-tenths of a second to claim the victory after the final restart of the race with 13 laps to go.

Pagenaud's win is the second straight for Team Penske at the Indy 500. Will Power won the event in 2018.

Following a strong month of May in which Pagenaud won the Indianapolis Grand Prix, the pole for the Indianapolis 500, and Sunday's victory, the French driver now leads the points standings after a winless 2018.
