Jockeying for Improbable's owner Bob Baffert will be Mike Smith, who rode Justify to a Preakness win and the Triple Crown last year.

Improbable crossed the finish line in fifth at the Kentucky Derby, but then the horse placed fourth following the disqualification of Maximum Security. The 3-year-old colt was the morning-line favorite for the Preakness at 5-2 and is expected to pick up its first win of 2019.

Three other horses running today raced two weeks ago in the Kentucky Derby: War of Will, Win Win Win, and Bodexpress, the late fill-in for then-favorite Omaha Beach.

Signalman was bet down during the week, opening up at 30-1 and sitting as short as 18-1 in some places on Friday.

Everfast was another late addition this week to make the field 13 horses, the largest at the Preakness since 2011. The long shot opened at 30-1 in some shops, but then dropped back even further in the morning-line odds.
