Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Marquez will reportedly announce his retirement Friday, writes ESPN's Salvador Rodriguez.

Marquez will turn 44 on Aug. 23 and will leave the sport with a Hall of Fame resume. He last fought in May 2014, when he beat Mike Alvarado.

Known as one of the greatest Mexican fighters of all time, Marquez departs with a 56-7-1 record that includes 40 knockouts. He'll be remembered for viciously knocking out Manny Pacquiao in 2012, in their fourth fight:

Marquez held titles in the following classes during his career: featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight, and super lightweight.
