Five-star defensive tackle Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy flipped his commitment Monday from Oklahoma to Texas A&M, he told On3's Hayes Fawcett.

Brownlow-Dindy attributed his decision to the coaching turnover at Oklahoma, but he said it wasn't a reflection of his thoughts about new head coach Brent Venables.

"My family and I could not have been happier with the coaching hire made by the University of Oklahoma," he wrote in a statement. "We, obviously, have been Brent Venables fans for many years. He's an intense coach, and he seems like a great man.

"With that said, due to all the recent changes in the coaching staff, the departure of coach (Lincoln) Riley, and the uncertainty regarding (defensive line) coach (Calvin) Thibodeaux (the two men involved almost exclusively in my recruitment), I have decided to go in a different direction."

Brownlow-Dindy committed to the Sooners in October. He's the No. 4 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to ESPN, and ranks second among defensive tackles behind only Walter Nolen, who's also committed to the Aggies.

The native Floridian made official visits to the Aggies and Ohio State in June.
