LSU hires Vikings DBs coach Daronte Jones as DC

LSU found a replacement for former defensive coordinator Bo Pelini.
The Tigers hired Minnesota Vikings defensive backs coach Daronte Jones to fill the position, the program announced Tuesday.
LSU and Pelini parted ways in December after just one season. The Tigers posted a 5-5 record in 2020 while allowing 34.9 points per game.
Jones spent the last five seasons coaching in the NFL, working for the Miami Dolphins (2016-17), Cincinnati Bengals (2018-19), and Vikings (2020).
He's coached defensive backs at multiple universities, including Wisconsin, where he worked with former LSU defensive coordinator and current Baylor head coach Dave Aranda.
Jones previously served as Bowie State's defensive coordinator for five years.
