Former West Virginia safety Kenny Robinson attended Saturday's XFL combine in Washington, a source told Bob Hertzel of the Exponent Telegram.

The source could not confirm whether Robinson was working out or simply observing the on-field activities.

Robinson, an All-Big 12 defensive back, entered the NCAA transfer portal earlier this month due to a reported academic issue involving the Mountaineers' code of conduct.

It's the first instance in which a college football player is linked with the XFL, as the league could allow players to receive financial compensation before being eligible to play in the NFL.

Robinson tied for second in the Big 12 with four interceptions to go along with 77 total tackles and one forced fumble as a sophomore in 2018.
