Alabama defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi is leaving to join the Cleveland Browns as a defensive line coach, a source told Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.

Lupoi was named the Crimson Tide's defensive coordinator in 2018, previously serving as the co-defensive coordinator in 2017.

During his tenure at Alabama, Lupoi was lauded for his recruiting efforts and helped the Crimson Tide secure several highly-touted prospects.

Lupoi becomes the fifth assistant coach to leave Nick Saban's staff this offseason. Several coaches have taken on roles at other programs, including offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, co-offensive coordinator Josh Gattis, offensive line coach Brent Key and quarterbacks coach Dan Enos.
