Alabama's Hurts replaces Tagovailoa in CFP title game

Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was replaced early in the fourth quarter by backup Jalen Hurts with the Crimson Tide trailing Clemson 44-16 in the College Football Playoff National Championship.
Tagovailoa completed 22 of 34 attempts for 295 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions.
Hurts threw two incomplete passes and was dragged down behind the line of scrimmage for a 4-yard loss in relief of Tagovailoa.
Entering the national championship game, Tagovailoa, a Heisman finalist, threw for 3671 yards, 41 touchdowns, and four interceptions this season. He also had 199 yards and five touchdowns on the ground.
