5 best prop bets for Clemson vs. Alabama

Alabama and Clemson will clash for the fourth straight year, and third time for the national title, on Monday at Levi's Stadium. Here are our five best prop bets for Round 4 between the two powerhouses.

Hunter Renfrow under 46.5 receiving yards (+105)

Clemson slot receiver Hunter Renfrow has long been a thorn in Alabama head coach Nick Saban's side, ripping the Tide up for 17 catches, 180 yards, and four touchdowns during the first two meetings of the four-part series between these teams. In last year's semifinal game, Alabama made a conscious effort to bottle up Clemson's X-factor, limiting Renfrow to 31 yards on five catches.

He'll likely receive his share of third-down targets during short-yardage situations on Monday, but don't expect him to run wild again and get past the number.

Justyn Ross longest reception over 30.5 yards (-120)

Quarterback Kelly Bryant could have led Clemson's offense through a cakewalk regular season, but Trevor Lawrence is now the main ingredient for beating the Tide. Dabo Swinney knows the formula for hanging with Alabama is letting it rip through the air, as the Tide's defensive weakness for years under Saban has been offenses that can stretch the field vertically.

It wouldn't be very Swinney-like to have a conservative game plan offensively, meaning we'll likely see the Tigers take their shots. Enter wide receiver Justyn Ross, who's been Lawrence's favorite vertical threat this year, and he's logged a 38-plus yard catch in seven of his previous 11 games.

Trevor Lawrence +38.5 passing yards vs. Tua Tagovailoa (-130)

Again, Lawrence is starting because he gives the Tigers a better shot at beating the nation's No. 1 team. Clemson running back Travis Etienne is one of the country's best and can go the distance on any play, but he likely won't churn out yards against Alabama's front seven. That will limit Lawrence's opportunities to put up significant yardage, especially if the underdog Tigers are trailing for most of the game.

Damien Harris under 50.5 rushing yards (-130)

Two factors play into fading Damien Harris-related props for Monday: his matchup and his usage. Clemson's defensive line has made life miserable for opposing running backs, and the unit is still dominant without Dexter Lawrence. Harris' snaps have also been steadily declining with Josh Jacobs emerging as a home-run hitter in Alabama's backfield.

Irv Smith anytime touchdown (+135)

Make a plus-EV bet on Alabama tight end Irv Smith to score a touchdown.

The Crimson Tide's offense is beyond difficult to defend, as four wide receivers who can score on any snap power the unit. Smith isn't as flashy, but he's a threat both after the catch and in the red zone, tallying seven touchdowns this season in an offense that spreads the ball around.
