Ex-Georgia quarterback Justin Fields, the No. 1 overall recruit in the class of 2018, is finalizing his transfer to Ohio State, sources told Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports.
With 2018 Buckeyes starting quarterback Dwayne Haskins likely to leave for the NFL, Fields will compete against Tate Martell for the top job in 2019 - assuming he's granted an NCAA waiver to play immediately.
Fields was given some playing time throughout Georgia's 2018 season while serving as the backup to Jake Fromm, completing 27 passes on 39 attempts for 328 yards and four touchdowns. He added another 266 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
Fields also reportedly considered Oklahoma, Florida State, and UCLA before deciding on Ohio State.
