The 5 best prop bets for Alabama-Oklahoma

Alabama and Oklahoma will play the second game of the College Football Playoff, as the No. 1 Crimson Tide and No. 4 Sooners square off in the Orange Bowl.

Let's look at the five best prop bets for the game:

Alabama team total over 47 points (-115)

Every national media segment covering the storylines for this game has, at some point, weighed in on Oklahoma's defensive struggles.

The Sooners are at a significant disadvantage against the Crimson Tide's No. 2 scoring offense in the country, even if the health of Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is uncertain. An Oklahoma secondary allowing the most passing yards in the country per game will be tasked with covering a slew of five-star athletes among Alabama's receivers, and a trio of running backs who can go the distance on any carry.

This is a terrible all-around matchup for the Sooners.

Longest TD over 65.5 yards (-120)

Call this a sucker's bet, but any offense in the country can catch lightning in a bottle and rip off a huge scoring play, especially these two offensive juggernauts. The Sooners, a team with the nation's top scoring offense, also pace the country in IsoPPP+, which accounts for explosive plays. Trailing right behind them is the Crimson Tide and their No. 2 scoring offense.

Jaylen Waddle over 70.5 receiving yards (-110)

A well-rounded receiving corps complements Tagovailoa. Jaylen Waddle, who led the Crimson Tide this season with 19.6 yards per catch, brings unmatched speed and the ability to take any reception to the house. He's been more involved recently, too, recording at least 73 receiving yards in each of his previous three games after doing so just twice over 10 games.

Kyler Murray over 22.5 completions (-110)

Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Kyler Murray has recorded only one game with more than 22 completions, which came in the Big 12 championship against Texas. The Sooners haven't needed Murray's arm all that much this season, as they've consistently earned large leads, eliminating the need to take risks. His arm should get more work with Oklahoma a 14-point underdog against the Crimson Tide.

Damien Harris over 75.5 rushing yards (-110)

Anyone fearful of how Tagovailoa's health might affect the Tide's offense must not be aware of the Crimson Tide's three-headed monster in the backfield that should consistently churn out big plays. Alabama's running back depth chart is headlined by Damien Harris, and he often shares the workload with Josh Jacobs and Najee Harris. But if the Tide want to play a little keep away, they should have holes to run through with their lead back.
