Ex-Cal star receiver Robertson transferring to Georgia

Standout wide receiver Demetris Robertson announced Saturday that after two seasons at Cal, he's transferring to reigning SEC champion Georgia.

It'll be a homecoming of sorts for Robertson, who hails from Savannah, Ga. He'll sit out the 2018 season before regaining his playing eligibility in 2019.

Robertson went to Cal in 2016 as one of the top recruits in his class. He became an instant contributor in a crowded Golden Bears receiving corps, notching 50 receptions for 767 yards and seven touchdowns as a freshman. An injury limited him to two appearances last year.

Along with Georgia, the talented pass-catcher drew scholarship offers from Alabama, Texas, and West Virginia upon leaving Cal.
